Hollywood film Interstellar has a separate fan base in India. After a successful re-release in the US, the Christopher Nolan directorial is gearing up for a record second innings in the Indian markets. The crowd gathered in advance booking is proving its craze among the audience.
Interstellar sets a stellar pre-sales record; Over 100K tickets reached for opening weekend
Starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, Interstellar is selling tickets like hotcakes. Advance bookings for Interstellar were opened two days ago and the reports are phenomenal to say the least. The sci-fi drama is approaching over 100K pre-sales in the opening weekend, that too just 18 days before its re-release.
If this momentum continues, the film will write history at the Indian box office with a stellar opening day followed by a record weekend and so on.
For those unaware, the film will release on the big screens in India on February 7, 2025. This will be an IMAX release, and the price has been kept very competitive, with most outlets asking Rs 300 per ticket. It remains to be seen whether stakeholders will re-release it in other standard formats.
The re-release of Interstellar India was pushed due to Pushpa 2; Ready to give tough competition to scoundrel Ravikumar
Christopher Nolan’s film was earlier scheduled to hit the screens in India on December 6, 2024, celebrating its 10th release anniversary. However, it was pushed due to Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, which occupied almost all the major IMAX screens.
Interstellar will now give tough competition to Himesh Reshammiya’s Badmaash Ravikumar and Junaid Khan-Khushi Kapoor starrer Loveyappa at the box office. Considering the branding and popularity of the film which released in 2016, the Hollywood legend is expected to be the top choice among cinephiles.
