Instagram has finally started allowing its users to add songs to their profiles. Previously, you were only allowed to add music to posts, but now the social media platform is exploring more. Starting today, Instagram will allow users to add a 30-second song to their profile bio. But it’s worth noting that the song won’t autoplay when you open your profile like the high-grade celebratory cards. You’ll have to click on the song to listen to it.

How to add songs to your profile?

To add a song, users can go to the “Edit Profile” page, search for and select a track from Instagram’s licensed music library (same for Reels and posts), and then choose a 30-second segment to display on their profile. According to a screenshot shared by Instagram, a category called Taste will be added to the bio, where the selected song will be displayed. A song will remain on a user’s profile until they choose to delete it or update it with a new one.

To promote this feature, Instagram has decided to collaborate with Espresso singer Sabrina Carpenter. To build excitement for her album launch on Friday, Carpenter’s Instagram profile will now feature a sneak peek of an unreleased track, giving fans a first listen to the new music. According to Instagram, the profile music feature offers an exclusive first listen to the unreleased song, giving fans a unique opportunity to hear it before the official full release.

Instagram notes can change color

In addition to the feature of adding songs to profiles, Instagram has also added colors to its notes. The words “demure”, “cutesy”, “considerate” and “mindful” have been identified as specific triggers that inspire the color change. Sending messages with these phrases can lead to a pink hue, but due to the low color saturation, the tone often appears more off-white than vibrant pink, depending on the quality of the screen.

After the brief availability of Gold Notes in the previous feature, which was later discontinued, the pink colour option was introduced. Reports confirmed that the Gold Notes feature was removed, and users could no longer use specific keywords to get the gold colour.
