Infinix Zero Flip has launched its first foldable phone in India, and it is also the first phone to be launched under Rs 50,000. It has an attractive design, MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, and a 4,720mAh battery with 70W fast charging support. We tested the device for a few weeks and despite some flaws it’s easy to recommend. You can read our detailed review of Infinix Zero Flip. But if you’re in a hurry, here’s a quick summary of the review in 5 points.
Infinix Zero Flip review in 5 points
– Design and Performance: The design of the Infinix Zero Flip is one of the most highly rated features here. It offers a premium design with 7.64 mm thin thickness and weighs 195 grams, making it easy to carry. It is compact, and offers great convenience for one-handed use. It has a sturdy design with flat edges and a curved display for the cover. While the aesthetics get full marks, the durability of the hinge left me a little skeptical. Why? Read the detailed review to know.
When the phone is opened, a large 6.9-inch display is visible. However, the internal display is quite good. In harsh sunlight, you can hardly see the colors on it. Indoors, I didn’t face any problems. But the cover display is the real king here. The phone has a 3.64 inch AMOLED cover display with 120Hz refresh rate. This lets you do almost everything you want to do on the primary display. This lets you handle most of your notifications and tasks without opening your phone. You can text, scroll social media, click selfies from the cover display. Not only does it look good, but it also enables you to quickly notice most of your notifications, and personally, I believe it also helps you reduce your screen time.
– Display: Under the hood, the Infinix Zero Flip is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, coupled with 8GB of RAM. It runs on XOS 14.5 based on Android 14. The performance of the phone is largely smooth. Be it general daily performance, watching YouTube videos or low-intensity gaming, the phone performs well. However, if you push the phone’s performance a bit, or use it continuously for a long time, you will experience a drop in its performance.
Under extreme stress, the Infinix Zero Flip not only performs poorly but also gets quite hot. I’ve been jokingly calling the phone a “hot-head.” It gets quite hot and takes a while to cool down.
– Camera: This is the first flip phone to come with three 50 megapixel cameras. Both front and rear cameras support 4K video recording. It also offers an AI vlog mode, which is great for new and existing content creators. The phone manages to click beautiful and social media ready pictures from the rear camera. Images produce natural colors with precise focus and good dynamic range. It takes a few seconds for the AI to post-process the images, but it’s not something that will bother the user.
It would have been ideal if the front camera could offer the same. But this is not such a big problem because you can use the rear camera for selfies also. Do you know how? Use the camera on the cover screen. View camera samples here.
– Battery: The Infinix Zero Flip packs a massive 4,720mAh battery with 70W charging speed. It takes only 50 minutes for the phone to be fully charged from 0 percent to 100 percent. In the two weeks I’ve used the Zero Flip, I’ve been impressed with its battery performance. This is especially interesting for flip phones, which typically struggle to deliver all-day battery as well. On the other hand, the Infinix Zero Flip lasts a whole day even on heavy usage.
– Decision: Infinix Zero Flip has been launched in India at a price of Rs 49,999, but with discount offers it can be priced at Rs 45,999. The most attractive thing about the phone is its price. It also impresses with the functionality of its battery, camera and its cover display. So, if you are looking to buy a flip phone, it is worth considering the Infinix Zero Flip.
