Earlier in the month, Infinix announced the 5G-enabled Hot 50. Now, the company is bringing a more affordable 4G variant that has a similar design, but differs in some key features.

Infinix Hot 50 4G unveiled with Helio G100 chipset, 6.78'' FHD+ IPS LCD

The Infinix Hot 50 4G is powered by the Helio G100, which replaces the Dimensity 6300. This limits connectivity to a 4G modem, but performance should be quite similar since both chips are fabbed on the 6nm node and use the same CPU and GPU cores. The G100 is paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM (LPDDR4X) and 128GB or 256GB of storage (UFS, version unknown). The card slot can accept microSD cards up to 2TB.

Apart from the modem, the Hot 50 4G actually brings some upgrades. The IPS LCD now measures 6.78″ and has FHD+ resolution, up from 6.7″ HD+. Both panels run at 120Hz and have Always On display mode. Both also use a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

The 4G model has a 50MP camera on the back, with a brighter f/1.6 lens but a smaller 1/2.76” sensor (vs. f/1.8, 1/2.0”). Both are capable of recording 1440p video at 30fps or 1080p video at up to 60fps. The selfie camera is only 8MP.

Both phones are powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging over USB-C. The battery is rated to retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 cycles (ie four years of daily charging).

Well Infinix claims that you can play freefire Up to about 9 hours on a single charge. The game also supports 90fps mode with 120Hz touch sampling rate on Hot 50 4G.

The 4G model has basic dust and water resistance, but Infinix isn’t offering any concrete IP ratings (the 5G version has IP54). Apart from USB-C, there is also a 3.5mm headphone jack along with an FM radio receiver. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth. The 4G model also has NFC, which the 5G phone doesn’t have.
