Delhi-based Startup Selogen Theraputics has obtained regulatory approval for patents for the world’s first indigenously developed double-specific 3-generation region receptor T (CAR-T) cells.

In India, we need two major regulatory agencies under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT)- RCGM (Review Committee on Genetic Herfer) and India’s Drug Controller General (DCGI) require approval under the Central Drug Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) from the Central Drug Controller General (DCGI).

“CAR-t therapy has great potential in treating solid tumors such as breast cancer, lung cancer and glioblastoma. Researchers are searching for the application of car-T in autoimmune diseases and chronic viral infections.
