‘Indian 2’ trailer review: Kamal Haasan, Shankar make a socially important film
The official trailer of Kamal Haasan and Shankar’s ‘Indian 2’ was launched today, June 25. The socially important film talks about corruption, unemployment and many more issues troubling the country.

The trailer of Kamal Haasan and director Shankar’s long-awaited film ‘Indian 2’ was released today, June 25, in multiple languages. Earlier today, the makers held a special screening for the media in Chennai. The trailer of ‘Indian 2’ received mixed reviews. With thrilling action sequences, multiple looks of Kamal Haasan and the main theme of corruption, ‘Indian 2’ has a lot to offer.
The cast and crew of ‘Indian 2’ launched the trailer at a press meet in Mumbai on June 25. The promo begins with people talking about unemployment, corruption and the failure of the system. Siddharth as Chitra Varadarajan mentions that those who loot the public’s money continue to loot. He also explains how citizens express their discontent on social media and become barking dogs instead of doing their work.
There is a lot to see in the trailer of ‘Indian 2’. We see Bobby Simha as part of the police force, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rishikanth and Jagan as Siddharth’s friends. But, what caught everyone’s attention is the appearance of SJ Suryah as an extremely rich man.
Siddharth and his friends talk about the one person who the public fears. We then see Siddharth and Kamal Haasan’s Senapathi fighting against corruption. In a crucial scene, Kamal Haasan’s Senapathi utters a powerful dialogue – ‘Gandhivadi vazhi la neenga, Netaji vazhila na’ (You follow the Gandhian path, while I follow the path taken by Netaji).

The trailer of ‘Indian 2’ had some promising moments, but it is not devoid of flaws. Kamal Haasan appears in multiple looks, but the prosthetics look patchy on the big screen. Similarly, the content of the film touches upon corruption, a recurring theme in Shankar’s films. It now depends on Shankar’s screenplay and, if he has any other tricks up his sleeve, to keep the story interesting.
Kamal Haasan has used his ‘Bigg Boss’ punchline, ‘Odavum mudiyadhu oliavum mudiyadhu’ (You can’t escape, you can’t hide). However, you get a deja vu feeling while watching the trailer.
Director Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ is all set for a grand release in theatres on July 12. The film will be released in multiple languages amid massive anticipation.
The film stars Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha and Priya Bhavani Shankar in lead roles. Jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, ‘Indian 2’ has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, editing by Sreekar Prasad and cinematography by Ravi Varman.
