In Jiangmen, China, a Cantonese tea house has redefined dining with a unique concept that combines traditional dim sum with live pro wrestling. According to the South China Morning Post, this unconventional combination is attracting crowds, giving patrons the chance to enjoy their favorite dumplings while watching high-octane wrestling matches taking place just a few feet away.

The experience, aptly named “Chinese Dim Sum WWE,” comes at a premium. For an additional 388 yuan (about Rs 4,500), diners can have front row seats near the wrestling ring, and immerse themselves in the spectacle of choreographed bouts while sipping tea. With tickets selling fast, the tea house’s unique offering has become increasingly popular with locals and tourists.

One storyline that has enthralled audiences involves a foreign wrestler named Sam who systematically defeats Chinese opponents before facing one of China’s top wrestlers, Liu Xuanzheng. Liu, despite his slight 5’5″ frame, turned the tables with his agility, quick moves and signature throws, not only winning the match, but also drawing loud cheers from the enthusiastic spectators. The bout became a highlight of the experience. is, playing on themes of drama, rivalry and national pride.

What really sets this dining event apart is its immersive nature, where the action spills beyond the wrestling ring and into the dining area. One example saw a waiter shocking diners by tearing off his uniform mid-shift and jumping into the ring to engage in a fight, the South China Morning Post reports. In another incident, wrestlers snatched food from the table during a match, and used it as props in their performance. These unexpected moments, coupled with choreographed theatrics, have led diners to compare the experience to a live-action kung fu movie.
