An 8-year-old girl in the US recently managed to foil a robbery at her father’s liquor store after she repeatedly beat the man with a baseball bat. New York PostThe little girl confronted the would-be robber — identified as 37-year-old Amazon employee Conchobar Morrell — after he walked into a Big Discount Liquor store in Minnesota on Saturday night and pulled out what looked like a handgun. “He put the gun on the table, he asked me to give him all the money and everything that was in the register, I told him, ‘Yeah — I’ll give you everything,'” the girl’s father, identified only as Leo, said.
according to PostWhile the store clerk was scrambling to retrieve the cash, the suspect, who was wearing an Amazon uniform, allegedly tried to sneak behind the counter where the girl was standing. The father immediately stepped in and punched Morrell and knocked him to the ground. The girl, on the other hand, armed herself with a bat and repeatedly beat the suspect while the father tried to pin the suspect down.
while talking to CBS NewsThe father said he did not realize his daughter had intervened until he played the surveillance video after the incident. “I’m so proud of her, she’s so strong,” he said. “That day, I just wanted to cry. When I saw the video, I didn’t expect her to do that. I expected a little girl to be crying, screaming,” he said.
The robber fled the store but was later arrested, police said. Morrell was charged with first-degree attempted aggravated robbery for the incident. Police said the weapon the man was carrying was a BB gun.

An Amazon spokesperson said the 37-year-old man was working as a delivery associate for a third-party service. The spokesperson said he would be fired from the company immediately after his arrest.
Meanwhile, a similar incident happened last year in which an 11-year-old girl cleverly escaped from an armed robber with the help of a roti. The incident happened in England where a robber with a knife approached the cashier and demanded money from the cash register. However, the girl’s bravery changed the outcome of the robbery attempt.
