Winona Ryder is very grateful for her relationship with her longtime partner Scott Mackinlay Hahn. In Harper’s Bazaar’s August 2024 Performance issue, Beetlejuice actress Winona Ryder, 52, had kind words for Hahn, “He’s so great. He’s really great. I’m really lucky.”
a bond that lasts
They have been together as a couple for 14 years. Loomstate and Ryder founder Hahn first met at the premiere of her film Black Swan in 2010. However, they made their relationship public when they walked the red carpet together for the premiere of Stranger Things season 1 in July 2016.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar in 2022, she said she liked that he wasn’t part of any form of show business or the entertainment industry; “We connected on so many levels. But it was surprising that he’s not in the business…. I really tried to keep it a secret.”
Remarkably, Hahn didn’t even know who Ryder was when they first met. She said, “She thought I was Milla Jovovich. She told me I was great in The Fifth Element.”
A trip down memory lane
During a recent interview with Ryder, she opened up about her past romantic life experiences. She revealed that she had two disastrous relationships before she reached the age of 30. “In my 30s, I had two disastrous relationships that — they weren’t wrong, but this was before you ever even thought to Google someone.”
Furthermore, as Ryder comments, “I was dating a guy who tells you within a couple of weeks that he’s in a relationship with someone else. And you just think, ‘What the fuck?'”
Ryder was engaged to Johnny Depp and there are rumors that she might be legally married to her Dracula co-star Keanu Reeves. But apart from all these rumors and ruined relationships, Ryder’s long-standing relationship with Hahn, who is not in show business, reflects a unique bond.
Talking about work front, Ryder’s upcoming film Beetlejuice will be released on September 6.
