Shefali shared these thoughts while participating spotlight sessionA podcast posted on Zoom’s YouTube channel, where he took a look at the lessons life taught him during a turbulent phase. Speaking about her realization she said, “Nobody told me you’re enough. You don’t need a husband, a friend, a brother, a sister to be complete. You are enough. So if you have good relationships, fantastic. But if you don’t, it won’t determine your value. Nobody told me that. And obviously, you go through things and you realize it on your own. It comes to a point where it makes it or breaks it for you.” That’s when it happens. Every day, there comes a moment when you realize, ‘Okay, I can’t do this anymore.’
Elaborating further, Shefali revealed that the turning point came after her first marriage, when she was faced with a difficult but decisive choice. “For me, this realization came after my first marriage. A close friend once asked me, ‘What if you never find love again? Will you take that risk or stop?’ I replied that I would still take the risk. If I have to spend my life alone, I will choose him. I can’t stay in a situation that doesn’t bring me happiness and confidence or doesn’t make me feel valued. That’s when I decided to move out and live alone for the first time, I always lived with my parents. As you age, you start caring less. You get tired of trying to please everyone. That’s when I reached a state of enlightenment, I realized that I am not a pizza; I can’t satisfy everyone.”
