According to a PTI report, the musician had reached the temple for a concert on December 15, 2024. The musician was about to enter the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, while conversing with a religious guru of the temple.
However, Ilaiyaraaja was barred from entering as only temple priests were allowed to enter the certain section where the deities were placed in the procession. Due to this, Ustad had to stop himself and pray in front of the temple and apparently he was given full respect in the temple.
