If you have insulin resistance, eat these 5 foods on an empty stomach

Insulin resistance is a common problem faced by many people today. According to clinical dietitian Anusha Rodrigues (@nextdoornutritionist), if you have insulin resistance, you should eat these 5 foods on an empty stomach.

1. Fenugreek seeds

If you have insulin resistance, start your day with fenugreek seeds. Soak two teaspoons of fenugreek seeds overnight and strain them. Drink the water first thing in the morning. According to experts, fenugreek seeds improve insulin sensitivity and can lower blood sugar levels by increasing glucose metabolism and reducing inflammation.

2. Cinnamon Tea

Drink cinnamon tea instead of milk tea to start your morning. Boil two-inch cinnamon sticks in 300 ml water and strain it. If you have insulin resistance, experts suggest starting your day with cinnamon tea. This is because cinnamon tea improves insulin sensitivity and glucose absorption in cells, resulting in lower blood sugar levels and better insulin function.

3. Soaked nuts

Instead of eating dry fruits, soak nuts like walnuts and almonds in water and eat them first thing in the morning. According to the expert, soaked nuts are known to improve insulin sensitivity and reduce inflammation levels in the body due to their high content of healthy fats, fibre and antioxidants.

4. Amla Shots

Amla shots made from Indian gooseberry (Amla) are a must not only for boosting immunity but also for combating insulin resistance. According to experts, rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, Amla helps improve insulin sensitivity and reduce oxidative stress, leading to better glucose metabolism and lower blood sugar levels.

5. Aloe vera extract

Aloe vera is a versatile plant that has many benefits. According to experts, drinking 30 ml of aloe vera extract with water can improve insulin sensitivity in your body. Additionally, it can reduce inflammation by increasing glucose absorption in cells and reducing oxidative stress.
