Vijay Verma was recently seen in Anubhav Sinha’s drama series, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. Based on real-life events, the series depicts the hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight IC 814 that took place during a Kathmandu-Delhi journey in 1999. The actor plays a pilot, Captain Sharan Dev, in the series, who is inspired by Captain Dev Sharan, known for his bravery during the 1999 hijacking. With IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack being the talk of the town, Vijay recently took to social media to compare its success to a ‘box-office tsunami’. The actor also congratulated director Anubhav Sinha for his ‘superhit’ series.

On September 9, Vijay Verma shared a picture of himself on Instagram in which he is seen in his look from the series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. Vijay looks smart as a pilot while he stands proudly in uniform against the backdrop of a resting plane. The actor is wearing a black uniform with yellow stripes on the cuffs and buttons in the front. He is wearing sunglasses.

His post also gave a glimpse of IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, which has reached the top spot of the most-watched streaming originals in India. Giving this news to his fans, the actor wrote a long note for its success.

In the caption, Vijay described the success of IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack by comparing it to a “box-office tsunami, typhoon and avalanche”. Calling the series a “world-class show”, the actor called it the “sweetest drizzle”.

He also thanked the audience for watching the film starring Vijay. Vijay also tagged Anubhav Sinha and congratulated him for the “Superhit” series.

“If it was a theatre, you would have heard words like box office tsunami, thunderstorm and avalanche to describe its success. But since it is a world-class show… I would prefer to call it the sweetest drizzle. Thank you to our lovely audience. You have got a super hit,” Vijay said, congratulating Sinha.
