Billy Ray Cyrus was stunned on stage due to technical problems during his performance at President Donald Trump’s inauguration, but he has no regrets. On January 20, the country star took the stage, but struggled to perform without his band as he struggled with acoustic problems.
The Grammy winner made headlines and became a sensation on social media because of his little mistake on stage. However, in an interview with People magazine, Cyrus admitted that he could not pass up the opportunity and that he enjoyed the program.
“Whether my microphone, guitar and monitors are working or not, I will not miss the honor of playing this show,” he told the outlet. The musician said he attended the ceremony because President Trump invited him, and that alone was a big deal.
He added, “Last night I got a ball at the Liberty Ball.” The music producer said that through his decades-long experience in the industry, he has learned to play songs and entertain the crowd even when the equipment breaks down. “I was there for the people, and we had a lot of fun. It’s called rock n’ roll!!!” He added.
In Cyrus’s now-viral clip from her performance, the musician opens with the full music video for Old Town Road, Cyrus’s Grammy-winning collaboration with Lil Nas X. When the video is playing, he is seen playing his guitar and was singing, but he was not heard.
He said, “If you encourage me, I will keep moving forward.” But when he started playing the song, the song was not heard again. Cyrus asked if his guitar was still on and called out the people who had cut it up. After this he said something in his concert which went viral.
“Check? Is anyone awake? I can’t hear it, can you all hear it?” He said. He kept calling until a member of his entourage came on stage and struggled to reassemble the guitar.
