Nadaniyan started Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan. In this, Khushi Kapoor acted as a female lead. The film received a lot of backlash with trolling for the lead pair. Now, producer Karan Johar has opened about defeat. He mentioned that, according to people, he was not about to show sympathy for Ibrahim and Khushi, as he is a star child.
In a recent interview with Galata Plus, Karan Johar spoke about his production Nadaniyan, which was released on Netflix in March 2025. He mentioned that hating the film became a trend. He said that the more people hating it, the more they were engaged. The filmmaker shared that people preferred to bash star children, and they wanted them to move forward.
Talking about the feelings of Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, Karan said, “Because I was feeling terrible for more and more … and I know that I am clearly not saying this, because I am not going to show sympathy to Ibrahim, Khushi and Shauna.
Karan said that people felt that Nadaniyan actors had no reason to feel bad because they came from the place of ‘eligibility’. He said that he had ‘delicate heart’ and was starting in the industry.
Rocky and Rani’s Prem Kahani director believed that all hated because they produced the film. “I attract such negativity,” he said.
For Bin calling, Nadaniyan is a love story between two students, Arjun and Piya. The summary of the film states, “When a misunderstanding changes her friends against her friends, cute rich girl Piya hits Arjun, who is a career -centric new student, to pretend to be her lover.”
Along with Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, Nadaniyan artists also include Sunil Shetty, Mahima Chaudhary, Dia Mirza and Jugal Hansraj. The film started under the direction of Shauna Gautam. It is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra.
