Huawei Watch 5 Review

Huawei unveiled the clock 5 internationally at a dedicated press event in Berlin (recorded here). This year, there is no Pro variant, so the Watch 5 is the company’s current flagship wearing. It is compatible with both iOS and Android and is also models with ESIM support if you want to go out without your phone.

Innovation is difficult to innovate where the feature set has already reached maturity and something new or useful that has not been already done is not rare. With Watch 5, you get all the features that you will expect from the premium wearer, but this time, Huawei has doubled the health monitoring aspect of all this.

Watch 5 claims for fame, health monitoring facilities are better access. Instead of digging in menu and apps, you just hold your finger on the sensor for a minute, and the clock will complete your full checkup for the day, possibly you will consume you with any irregularities that may require medical.

We are using one since the incident, and we are ready to share our ideas how good it is in real life.

design

Our unit is a 46 mm version and comes into purple color, with a case made of titanium and a overall strap in a matching color. It certainly looks great and sits well on the big wrist.

If you imagine a small clock, the Watch 5 is also available in the 42 mm version, but keep in mind that it is not only a small face, but also a small battery inside.

46 mm Watch 5 We have only 58 grams weight for reviews, so despite its relatively large size, it is not a heavy tool. Stainless steel models are slightly heavy.

The titanium body is combined with sapphire glass, which is a premium in the form of material in the smartwatch industry. The spherical glass not only looks terrible, but it is also quite immense for scratches.

Display

We noted the dome design of the screen, but it is not new – Huawei introduced it in the Watch 4 series, and here it is with the same Ltpo Amoled with 1.5 “diagonal and 466 x 466 px resolution.

The company has made a correction, it is bright – it is rated at 3,000 notes, which is the highest for Huawei wearable (technically declared with Watch Fit 4 Pro, declared in the same event).

Huawei Huawei’s Watch face congestion in Huawei Health App claims the khatta library. These faces are usually divided into three categories based on power efficiency. Unfortunately, all cool looking designs with moving objects and animations consume much more power.

At least some faces are designed to activate the sensor on the side to activate the animation – a cool gimmick, if nothing else.

Ex-tap

Now that we have mentioned the new sensor, let’s give details about what it does and how it works.

We attended a special meeting at Huawei Headquarters in Shenzhen, where product directors provided comprehensive information about the sensor. Wearbal’s chairman Rico Zhang explained that the Huawei Trusense System (the array of the rear) is accurate, it is not quick and accurate as the company’s wishes.

The X-tap is not a clickable button, at least not to wear this generation. This is a combination of three sensors: the first detect pressure from the fingers, which is 10 to 50 times more accurate than the wrist-based measurements, almost as accurate as a medical device. The second is a glass-coated ECG (electrocardiogram) electrode that transmits signals more rapidly from the finger.

The third is a PPG sensor (photoPlethysmogram) – an optical sensor that detects the change in blood volume, uses to measure spo2 and heart rate on our fingers similar to medical personnel similar to those clamps.

All this is for the theoretical part. In practice, the Watch 5 can provide nine health -related readings by pressing the sensor for 60 seconds through 5 health sight facility. The menu activates a strong press app for three seconds from anywhere in the menu – first of all, it requires 30 seconds of direct contact for ECG measurement, followed by 15 seconds to capture SPO2, heart rate, stress, and more.

The third step is to cough in the clock. Records wearable audio, analyzes it, and provides a respiratory probe reaction.

Three stages of health eyesight

All these health checks are already available in the old Huawei Wearables. The difference is that they are all collected in a mega-app, which also provides a new health metric-HRV or heart rate variability. It is the latest and trendiest feature, which analyzes the regularity of the gap between each heartbeat.

High HRVs are considered healthy, while low HRVs may indicate stress or potential health issues. An important reminder: Huawei Watch 5 is a smart gadget, a stylish accessory and a device for quick health matrix; However, it is not a medical device.

software Hardware

Huawei Watch 5 has health insight, which should not be confused with health point of view. This feature is available only in the health app and provides intelligent analysis of sleep, stress and health advice while monitoring trends. You need to wear a clock for an extended period for convenience, to work correctly.

Health -related health insight can be found in the health tab of the health app, and yes, Huawei can do a little harder on naming. Technically, anyone with the V15.1 recurrence of the app can find their insight, but the analysis is based on advanced tracking of the Trusse, which means only Watch 4, Watch GT4, and Watch Fit 4 Pro can include Watch 5 in providing detailed analysis.

Health insight

We loved the gesture control at Watch 5, which is new to Huawei. Unlike other companies, we have two gestures that work with limited number of apps – which may not look enough, but at least it acts originally.

The gesture of tapping the index finger against your thumb serves as a fine button, while the index finger switch switch to the thumb on the mode. Apps that support these gestures are calls, music, alarms and remote shutters (later Emoi-Interested Huawei are available on the phone).

gesture control

In the previous wearables, everything else offered the harmful 5 is available in the clock 5-more than more than the game mode, including detailed information for trail runners and golfers, petal maps, broad ECG, artery hardness, and other-run phase-by-step navigation.

The watch number series also includes ESIM support as a premium model. For better functioning, for convenience, Huawei Watch 5 needs to be supported by the carrier.

This wearable chain also provides wide third-party support and can connect to the Internet through Wi-Fi 6 (65 Mbps Max). While all these advanced features drain the battery to a large extent, Huawei introduced dual battery mode.

Switching between standard mode and ultra-long battery life mode does not exceed 3 seconds, a large improvement from the Watch 4 series, which takes about 30 seconds. Activating the second mode disables many features-ESIM support, anything related to X-TAP, step-by-step navigation and any established third-party app.

battery life

Huawei often does not reveal its wearing battery capacity. We can confirm that our 46 mm unit has a capacity of 867 mAh, while the 42 mm edition is 540 mAh.

The Watch provides 5 wireless charging, which technically works with any QE charger, but it is not straightforward. The design of the clock and straps often makes it difficult to keep the weedable down on a flat surface.

We attempted to charge Watch 5 with an old wireless charger Pak, but the device supports 10W fast charging, provided by the CW05 charger included in the retail box. We charged the Watch 5 to 0 to 100% in about 90 minutes, aligning with Huawei’s advertisements.

Using any other charger can greatly affect the charging time, which can be from 100 to 200 minutes, so we recommend sticking to the original one.

A single fee in standard mode lasted for about 100 hours, or about four days. Always-on display was active, the battery life decreased. Things became complicated when we turned into ultra-savings battery life mode.

Theoretically, we can exceed 10 days, but this will require to disable facilities such as heart rate, spo2, stress and sleep tracking. In specific use, we achieved for seven days, although it was without any physical activity tracking. By adding only 90 minutes of exercise weekly, battery life is reduced by five to six days. Using AOD reduced our use in four days.

Fortunately, the battery recharges quickly. We recommend wearable or charge to every couple for about 30 minutes – perhaps during a regular shower. This approach will ensure that the Watch 5 remains almost continuously active without compromising on tracking.

Decision

The starting price of 46 mm Huawei Watch 5 for the stainless steel model is € 449, while the Titanium model (covered our purple unit) is priced at € 549. This is actually cheaper than its predecessor, which is quite impressive, especially given new hardware and software.

Huawei usually bundles its wearer with other devices and services. Watch 5 Freebuds 6i in Germany comes with an additional fluorolystomer strap and an extended three -year warranty, all without any additional cost.

Users in Spain may also get discounts on weight scale (€ 10 instead of € 50), while customers in Poland may get frequency at 33% discount.

Huawei Watch 5 is a notable device that should consider both new and experienced both new and experienced. This impressive battery claims longevity, a wide array of applications and features, and extraordinary durability.

Additionally, the clock is aesthetically pleasing, comfortable to wear, and provides excellent performance-it involves almost everything that can desire with a high-ended smartwatch. If you do not need all premium features, you can see in Watch Fit 4 Pro, which we have also reviewed recently.
