Huawei Matepad Pro 12.2 (2025) Benchmark Results and Battery Testing

Huawei refreshed the Matepad Pro 12.2 with a new chipset, Kirin 9020 this year. The accurate upgrade on Kirin 9000s within the 2024 Matepad Pro 12.2 is not clear, but we know that both Chips are on the 7Nm node. Here we will see what performance improvement is offered by the new chip.

Huawei Matepad Pro 12.2 (2025) Benchmark Results and Battery Testing

Huawei Matepad Pro 12.2 (2025) has the same battery and charging system that is 2024 anterior with 10,100mAh capacity and 100W wired charging. The official number claims that 85% fee can be obtained in 40 minutes and the full 100% charge takes 55 minutes. We will put these numbers in the test.

Display

We tested Matepad Pro in two mode, standard and performance. The latter CPU gives a tangible improvement in speed (about 12%) and more significant boosts for GPU performance (about 17%).

Both Kirin Chips have an octa-core CPU in the 1+3+4 configuration, with the top two clusters multi-threaded. However, the old 9000s run their large core for high clock speed, 1x 2.62GHz + 3x 2.15GHz + 4x 1.53GHz compared to 1x 2.4GHz + 3x 2.0GHz + 4x to the new 9020 chip compared to 1.6GHz.

The architecture reforms 2025 Matepad Pro 12.2 are allowed to exclude their 2024 predecessor in a single-core test. See similar results between standard and performance mode. When a multi-core task is faced, the performance kicks the mode, but even 12% of its uplift was not enough to catch up to 2024 tablets. Overall, the CPU on Kirin 9020 is a mixed bag and is equivalent to Snapdragon 888.

Hisilicon used a new GPU for this chip, Maloon 920 instead of 910 found in the 9000s. How are they separated? Hisilicon has been quite secret about its chips, so we do not know.

However, there is a certain improvement – the standard mode allows 2025 tablets to match the 2024 model and the performance mode gives it a 15% increase. He said, Huawei has only access to mid-range performance-Rin 9020 defeats Snapdragon 7s 7S General 2, but there is no match for 7+ genes 3. It comes close to Snapdragon 888 since 2021.

The total performance measured by Antutu is very solid with a score of more than 1 million (although the display mode was required to be promoted to clean that range).

Huawei’s Silicon Endeavors and SMIC semiconductor nodes are improving, but they still have a lot to do, especially if the company wants to match state -of -the -art Prasad with Qualcomm, MediaTek and other chipset manufacturers.

battery life

Although it was not affected by his performance, Kirin 9020 proved himself a very efficient chip. Huawei has a modem (not surprising here) and call time is great (this will be more important for the phone with a chip instead of the matepad).

Matepad Pro 13.2 (2023) Kirin uses 9000s chipset and has a 10,100mAh battery, which is similar to Matepad Pro 12.2 (2025). However, the active use score with a large improvement in web browsing and video increased more than 3 hours, as well as a solid uplift in gaming time.

Compared to tablets with chips on more advanced nodes (such as 4Nm 7s Gen 2 inside POCO pad), matepad pro is showing excellent results.

Charge

Huawei got a late start in chipset design (not by choice) and has a lot to do much – most of the performance, it seems that it has efficiency on the lock. But the company has now been working on fast charging for years and shows it.

Huawei Matepad Pro 12.2 (2025) Benchmark Results and Battery Testing

The 100W system is quite powerful and Huawei Matepad Pro 12.2 (2025) is essentially at the top of all charts. Well, at a 15 -minute mark, the Xiaomi pad was 7 Pro 1% more, but it is with a capacity of 1,250mAh to fill. Actually, Pad 7 Pro did really good for the 67W charge system.

Nevertheless, however, Matepad promised as sub-1 hour zero-to-full charging (it missed only 2 minutes to 55 minutes mark). We do not test 40 minutes, but the tablet was at 62% at half an hour mark – an excellent result.

conclusion

Huawei Matepad Pro 12.2 (2025) is a premium tablet that starts from € 850 for the base 12/256GB variant and if you want a papermate display (which cuts on perfect), then goes up to € 1,000/£ 900.

Although it does not perform the premium tablet, it certainly provides great battery life and fast speed speed. And Huawei is making a lot of efforts to improve the hormonis – although international units ships with EMUI.
