Huawei has launched its first foldable laptop and joined the choice of Lenovo, HP and Asas. Huawei Matebook Fold is called Ultimate, the foldable laptop comes with an 18 -inch display, and it does not run Windows. Then what does it go? It is powered by Huawei’s own harmonous 5. And what is its cost? It starts at Rs 2,85,000 (approx).

The metbook fold ultimat is already available for pre-order in China, where it will go on sale by 6 June. There is no information about the availability of devices in India yet. We suspect that this will also be made available. But for reference, Huawei foldable laptop has launched two variants in China. The 32GB RAM and 1TB storage model is priced at CNY 24,000 (about 2,85,000 rupees), while the 32GB RAM and 2TB storage version is priced at CNY 27,000, which is about Rs 3,20,000.

Huawei Matebook Flod Ultimate: Display

Despite its large 18 -inch screen, the metbook fold ultimate is postponed to compact. The weight of just 1.16 kg, it is light and portable, and measures only 14.9 mm when closed. Open it, and it becomes even more slimmer (just 7.3 mm) for a clever design that includes a three-layer aluminum structure and an ultra-slop printed circuit board (PCB).

Metbook fold ultimate can be used in many ways. It opens up to 90 degrees to show a virtual keyboard, making it a traditional laptop. Open it completely, and you get a stunning 18 -inch OLED display, which is usable in vertical or horizontal mode. It also comes with an underlying kickstand for hand free use.

OLED Ltpo panel is one of the highlights. When completely opened, it provides 4: 3 aspect ratio at 3296 x 2472 resolution, and when folded in laptop mode, it switchs to 3: 2 ratio with 2472 x 1648 resolution. The screen reaches a glow of 1600nits, with 1440Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort, and the pair is protected by a non-nutonian fluid layer and carbon fiber support for durability. Huawei says that the panel consumes 30 percent less power and is three times higher than a regular OLED screen.

If you prefer a physical keyboard, Huawei has included a wireless 5 mm-skinny keyboard made of aluminum alloys. It provides 1.5 mm key trip and weighs only 290 grams, causing a total weight of 1.45 kg with a laptop.

Inside, the device packs 32GB RAM and comes in 1TB and 2TB SSD options. Huawei has not disclosed the chipset that is powering the device, but cooling is controlled by a vapor room and two slim fans.

The fold ultimat is equipped with a versatile setup 74.69Wh battery, two USB-C ports, six speakers and four microphones. Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Huawei is offering laptops in three color options with a matching texture for the body and wireless keyboard. Each unit is bundled with keyboard, carries cases, a 140W USB-C charger and cable.
