Huawei beat Samsung for punch with second trifold mate XTS, combines stylus and low prices
Huawei has launched its second generation trifold, Met XTS. The device improves on the original partner XT and will reduce a hole in your pocket.
Huawei is taking the lead when it comes to trifolds. The Chinese phone manufacturer has launched its second generation triple-screen foldable, Met XTS.
The Mate XTS uses a similar 10.2-inch OLED Ltpo display with a fresh rate of 90Hz. The Ltpo panel allows the phone to be reduced as 1Hz to save the battery. When folded, the size of the screen decreases by 7.9 inches for two sides and 6.4 inches when it is completely folded. It has a peak of 1,800nits.
The Z-shaped fold of Huawei Mate XTS allows the phone to do a screen at the front, when without the requirement of an additional exterior display, unlike two-screen foldables such as Samsung Galaxy Z folds 7.
The display does not contain an under-display fingerprint scanner, in which side-mounted scanner is working.
A major addition with Met XTS is stylus support. This allows users to maximize the use of large -scale performance in sketching or writing notes.
Huawei Mate XTS Mate Xt is powered by Kirin 9010 in-house by Kirin 9020 chipset.
The battery on Met XTS remains unchanged from its predecessor to 5,600mAh. TRIFULDs have support for 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Reverse wireless charging is capted at 7.5W.
Huawei Mate XTS has a triple camera setup in the rear. The main sensor is a 50-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). There are 12-megapixel ultravide and 12-megapixel periscope telephoto with 5.5x optical zoom. The front camera is an 8-megapixel sensor.

Met XT was not a cheap tool. The price of Trifold was 19,999 yuan (about Rs 2,46,728) in China. While the global release was priced at 3,499 (about Rs 3,58,965).
Huawei Mate XTS starts with 17,999 yuan (Rs 2,22,056) for 16GB/256GB variants. The price goes up to 21,999 yuan (Rs 2,71,480) for 16GB/1TB variants.
The phone comes in new purple and white colors. Last year’s red and black are also available. Trifold is expected to be launched globally, at least in Europe at the beginning of next year.
Huawei has now launched two trifolds before another manufacturer made his first announcement. However, Samsung is not far behind. The Korean phone manufacturer is rumored to reveal the Galaxy Trifold at the end of this month.
