Hridayapoorvam review: Mohanlal, Malavika Mohanan starrer is a terrible and comical story that makes you feel hot

Hridaypurvam starring Mohanlal in the lead role hit a big screen on August 28, 2025. Under the direction of Satyan Anthikad, Malavika Mohanan and Sargeth Pratap are shown as co-leaders.

If you are planning to watch humorous family plays in theaters, then here is a Pinkvilla review for you.

Plot

Hridaypurvam tells the story of a middle -aged man Sandeep Balakrishnan, who recently had a heart transplant surgery. When he is invited to the engagement ceremony of Harita, the daughter of his heart, Sandeep travels to Pune.

However, some circumstances inspired him to expand his stay, during which he creates an emotional bond with Harita and his family. How Sandeep deal with events and how they change him as a person, accept their feelings, make a full film.

Good

Hridaypurwam will actually expect a Mohanlal starrer, directed by Satyan Anthikad. The pair, who has given many prestigious gems in Malayalam cinema, continued their streak with another feel-gud comedy drama so far.

The characterization of Sandeep Balakrishnan played by Mohanlal provides a fine depiction that resonates with many. The reflection of character on life, death and loneliness is emotionally compelling.

While the initial half struggles to take off, once it reaches a certain point, there was no dull moment. The film has a heartbreaking effect, especially with music with music with Mohanlal’s bromance, which acted as his magic.

Malavika Mohanan and Sangita Nair played their parts neatly, causing Hridaypurvam a pleasant story that reminds the audience that cinema is not just about action and violence.

By coming to technical aspects, Satyan Anthikad reminds everyone why he is considered a goat of feel-gud drama. Humor is just clinging to the mind, which enriches the experience.

From the 1980s to the 2010s, he was brought to his films, which could clearly follow Hridaypurvam to those in the footsteps. However, at the same time, it has also managed to develop through years.

With the elements reminiscent of Avashemund and Pachuvam Atabuta Wilkkum, it seems that Anthikad’s sons – Akhil and Anoop had a remarkable influence on the style of experienced filmmaker.

Justin Prabhakaran handles music tracks neatly, and cinematography is in line with the film’s tone. Mohanlal’s costume designer is also entitled to praise for thoughtful style.

bad

There are some shortcomings in Hridaypurvam, mainly from its initial Act. The initial scenes take their time to move, and humor in these parts effectively struggle for the land.

Instead of realizing Clich, some of the comedy one-liners and scenes feel saturated. However, it is limited to the initial part of the film and later improves considerably.

In the handicides, strict editing can make the overall experience even more attractive.

Display

Mohanlal stole the show with his depiction of Sandeep Balakrishnan. After taking into most action roles, it is refreshed to see her returning to a soft, more permanent character.

Innocence in his eyes reminds their classic comedy plays while distributing lines. While Mohanlal does what he is known to do, it is the Shangeeth Prathap that ends as a show steeler.

The Premalu fame actor effectively balanced humor, played the role of an ideal side for Mohanlal. Meanwhile, Malavika Mohanan shows more promise as a leading woman, in which Sangita Nair shared beautiful chemistry with lalteton.
