The teaser trailer for Universal Pictures’ live-action adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon has arrived, giving fans their first glimpse of the surprising world of Berk.
The film will star Mason Thames as the grouchy Hiccup and Gerard Butler as his influential but lovable father, Stoick the Vast.
The trailer is heart-touching, showcasing the key moment where Hiccup admits his inability to slay dragons – a rite of passage for his tribe. In contrast, Stoick embodies the harsh traditions of his people, killing the very creatures Hiccup wishes to understand.
Audiences also enjoy the iconic scene of Hiccup’s first encounter with Toothless, the Light Fury Dragon, whose soulful eyes and alert movements foreshadow the deep friendship that will change both their lives and their world forever.
Nick Frost is also part of the cast as Gobber the Belch, Stoick’s loyal friend and a quirky mentor to Berk’s youth.
