Tips to choose the right papaya

Check the color

Look for papaya that are mostly yellow with some orange patches. It indicates ruzess. If the outer skin is still green, papaya is likely to be raw and may lack taste.

Smell the fruit

A ripe papaya will have a sweet, pleasant aroma. If it does not smell at all, it is probably not yet cooked. Avoid papina with sour or closed odor, as they may overcome or bad.

Press gently

Press the papaya gently with your fingers. It should be given a little yield under pressure but should not feel very soft or emotional. If it is very firm, it can be uncontrolled; If it is very soft, it can be rotten inside.

Check for scar or stain
