However, the Nidhi Egarwal is one of the actors of the industry who have two consecutive big budget recreators, who are ready to release this year. While ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ is ready for his release on May 9, ‘The Raja Saab’ is still in the post -production stage.
Today in a special chat with India Today Digital, Nidhi Egrawal spoke in detail about his work process, worked with Pawan Kalyan and Prabhas, and more.
Excerpt from interview:
Why: After the Kalga Thalavan, you are coming back with release after about three years. Was this difference?
A: It was a kind of intention – I am shooting for both my films with Pawan Kalyan and Prabhas. The plan was to shoot these films one by one, but the release date changed. They clearly choose a date that is good for the film. So I think the desired difference is slightly more, uh, extended.
Question: You were shooting with two superstars – Pawan Kalyan and Prabhas. Not everyone gets such an opportunity.
A: I am really grateful, and I mean to balance both shooting – there were days when I used to shoot both on the same day. In fact, there was a period of about 1.5 weeks when I had to shoot in Vijayawada and Hyderabad. I was shooting in both cities and my sleep will be from Hyderabad to Vijayawada in the car (during drive). It was quite busy. It has gone mad, but I will do all this again.
I will do all this again without any issue. I like to work hard. I don’t know, it’s a bit strange, but I like Udham. I am really grateful and happy on this occasion, but I waited for such an opportunity. There were many other things that would come in my way. But I was sure that I wanted to do some projects that would be good for me. I kept my ground really strong, even if it took time. It was difficult and everything. I did not want to compromise on the kind of projects I wanted to do.
Question: You do not take a hurry to sign the projects. Is this always more than quality for you?
A, Absolutely. I do not have any kind of guidance because I do not come from the industry. Every decision I make is my own. Therefore, I need to weigh it and question whether it would be good for me, or what if it is wrong? I always expect to be a part of quality projects. I think I became lucky because my first film – your first film plays a very important role. I started with an excellent first film – so that the bar could be set and then it was about maintaining the kind of quality I do. But saying that, I am very open for the films of the festival and those, including using.
Question: When ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ was introduced to you, what were your initial views?
A: I always wanted to do a period film because I think I am watching films like ‘Bahubali’. My choice for period films immediately made me interested in it. I play a great role. Looking at my entire filmography, this is the biggest film which I have been part. Role, also, has good details. There are many layers for my character, Panchami, and there are many changes that you see in the film. There was no question for me that I was not going for it.
Question: What kind of homework happened in your role?
A: When we started shooting, the directors were very clear on references. He was clear about how he wanted to see this character – how he wanted him to wear clothes, behave and also see. I am an actor of a director. From my side, I had to learn some skills. I am a trained ballet dancer, so I learned Bharatanatyam for the film, and then I had to learn horse riding.
Since it was a period film, you are wearing a lot of jewelery and your dress and everything is very heavy – it’s a little tired. It was a bit difficult, but more than anything, it was just 4 years waiting period and was equally tedious.
Everything else was very good. I have no regrets because I believe in divine times. If the film is coming on May 9, there is no better possible date for the film to come.
Question: So what will you say your greatest Techway in playing this role of Panchami?
A, I am a very impatient person. One thing is that this particular film has really taught me, patience, and I am grateful to it. On-screen, Techwae is that I got to play the role of a queen, so I mean it is a dream to me.
A: Working with Pawan Kalyan would have a special experience
A: He is a very well -read, intelligent person who is also a super emotional. He has this personality of a leader – he does not need to do anything but his aura is powerful. I think that is why they call it a power star. He is a very collaborative and an easy actor with whom to work. He does not carry goods to be a huge superstar.
Question: Apart from Pawan Kalyan, ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ also has great industry including Bobby Deol and Satyaraj. How was it working with them?
A, I have combination scenes with them. We also performed some groups scenes, and it was really surprising. I had to work with such experienced artists and I had to learn a lot. Every day when we had group scenes, we were really very fun, and we had a goal about doing the film good.
Question: What parameters do you think when you fix the script?
A: This is a long and spontaneous process, but I will go with my intestine. For me, two things are very, very important – a director and my intuition. My performance is as good as I understood how much to do, how much did the director tell me what to do. I am very dependent on my director, so my number will be a director, and number 2 will be my intuition. My intuition has inspired me to handle some great projects, and it has left me some great, not-so-mahan projects, so I really trust.
‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ is directed by Krisha Jagalamudi. Pawan Kalyan played the role of veteran, which depicts the life of the legendary robber Veera Mallu.
