Meghan Markle surprised the owner of a small business by increasing his sales after posting an Instagram video of donating a hoodi from his brand in Chicago.
In the latest post shared by Duchess on his social media platform, he was seen playing a black hoodi with his children’s names, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, stitched on the edge of the collar.
Reacting to the video, Annie Leachman, the owner of the brand of clothing, told People Magazine that she was stunned by an increase in sales overnight.
Businesswoman shared, “I was very shocked. I had to do a double tech and almost could not believe that it was one of us, even though writing on his shirt is in my literal handwriting.”
He further stated that it was a regular and a random order he had received and he never realized that the Duchess or anyone in his team would have ordered a piece.
The leachman continued to share, “I am not sure it was a gift or if Meghan himself ordered it.” She explains, “Either Meghan likes to support handmade businesses owned by younger women or his great friends in their lives. Probably both!”
Meanwhile, the entrepreneur revealed that she was on maternity leave after giving birth to her first child in November. With a sudden increase in his sales, the leachman had to reduce his brake and return to work.
He said, “What is a way to come back from maternity leave! I planned to keep the shop closed by next week, but decided to open quickly as this is the best thing ever!”
For business, Anne Leachman allows customers to adapt her clothes and get a personal name stitched on the collar.
