Although the House of the Dragon season 2 finale was unexpectedly disappointing, fans are still waiting to see what happens to their favorite characters in future seasons. It is known that George RR Martin’s book franchise has a dedicated fanbase and spoilers or theories are considered sacrosanct.

Perhaps this is the reason why the stars of the show are also as ignorant about Season 3 as the audience. The cast of HOTD included Matt Smith who played Daemon Targaryen, Fabian Frankel who played Kristen Cole, and Tom Glynn-Carney who played King Aegon II. Part of a panel discussion at New York Comic Con on Sunday, October 20.

When moderator Josh Horowitz asked if he had seen the season 3 script, Glynn-Carney said, “Not one jot, not one letter.”

He said that the longer the writing team took, the longer they would have to wait to read the script. The Crown actor echoed his co-star’s sentiments and said, “I haven’t heard of the concealer or the hair.” He turned to Frankel to ask if he had heard anything recently.

“I’ve heard some things I can’t possibly share here,” Frankel teased. This was it people, no way for House of the Dragon fans here! It looks like the cast has reunited two months after the second season finale.

According to audience ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, the season started off strong but came back into itself towards the end. Season 2 was just like the first season, it was the calm before the storm! Some of the stories seemed entertaining while others, especially Smith’s character, seemed trite and dull.

Now that armies have gathered on both sides (green and black), with Rhaenyra finally realizing that war is the only way to reclaim her rightful throne and the Black Council overcoming the power of the Greens, the show takes the lead. Expectations have been raised – action-packed third season.

In September showrunner Ryan Condal confirmed that the Game of Thrones spin-off would end after 4 seasons. House of the Dragon Season 1 and 2 are available to stream on Max and Jio Cinema.
