Hollywood animated film Hoppers, directed by Daniel Chong, recorded a good opening weekend at the box office. Debuting with Rs. 45 lakh, the film recorded its biggest day on the second day, when it collected Rs. 1.20 crores. Hoppers recorded a slight decline on the third day and added Rs. An increase of Rs. was recorded. Tally 1.10 crores. Sunday’s drop came due to the T20 World Cup final match of India vs New Zealand.
Produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures, Hoppers opened its opening weekend at Rs. But closed. Earned Rs 2.75 crore at the Indian box office. The sci-fi animation film opened its opening week with around Rs. Earning of Rs 3.50-4 crore.
Although this is a low opening weekend, it is still reasonable for a non-IP animated film. It will be interesting to see how it performs further in the weekdays and then in the second week. Based on the current trends, hoppers should aim to cross at least Rs. 10 crore mark by the end of its theatrical run.

The story of the film is based on Mabel Tanaka, who is an animal lover. When she discovers that scientists can transfer human consciousness into robotic animals, she uses this to her advantage to uncover hidden details about them, later realizing her mistakes.
