It wasn’t long ago that any phone with a battery capacity over 5,000mAh was guaranteed to be a pretty robust phone, but the last few years have seen a revolution thanks to silicon-carbon (Si/C) anode technology. This allowed smartphone manufacturers to fit higher energy density batteries inside smartphones, and we are now at the point of crossing the 10,000mAh battery limit inside phones with less than 8 mm thickness.
The Honor Power2 is now official in China, and it features a 10,080mAh Si/C battery, which Honor claims can last for more than 20 hours of continuous play. The manufacturer suggests that you can expect over 26 hours of video playback, up to 17 hours of continuous navigation or up to 14 hours of non-stop gaming.
Honor Power2 can reverse charge other devices at speeds up to 27W
The large battery is paired with 80W wired charging, and you can also use the Power2 as a power bank to charge other phones and devices at up to 27W speeds. All this is contained inside a fairly thin 7.98 mm chassis, and the phone weighs just 216 grams.
Apart from the huge battery, the Power2 has the usual set of specifications you’d expect from a modern Android smartphone. It features full IP68 + IP69 + IP69K ingress protection and a decent-sized 6.79-inch AMOLED with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is rated at 1,800 nits peak local brightness and houses a 16MP selfie cam and fingerprint scanner.
The Honor Power2 is the first phone to launch with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset along with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256/512GB UFS 4.1 storage.
MediaTek’s latest SoC features an eight-core CPU with a big core design using ARM Cortex-A725 units. The prime core is clocked at 3.4GHz and is coupled with 3x cores @3.2GHz and 4x cores @2.2GHz speeds. In terms of GPU, the new chip has a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, and based on benchmarks, it has scored over 2.4 million points on AnTuTu.
The Power2 also includes a 50MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP ultrawide lens with OIS. The software side is covered by MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.
The Honor Power2 comes in Midnight Black, iPhone 17 Pro-inspired Sunrise Orange, and Snowfield White colors.
