Cinematographer Pratik Shah, who has worked in Hindi films including ‘Homebound’ of Neeraj Gaywan and Vikramaditya Motwen’s ‘Jubilee’ and ‘CTRL’, has been accused of sexual harassment. Filmmaker Abhinav Singh, who has helped short films like ‘Sita’ and ‘Passenger Kripya Dhyanan Day’, level these allegations against her after receiving testimony from about 20 women.
After allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced, the cinematographer removed his Instagram profile. But according to a report Hollywood Reporter IndiaThis is not the first time that Pratik has been in the news for their sexual inappropriate behavior.
Four years ago, a young cinematographer contacted a complaint against a senior member in the Indian female cinematographers Collective (IWCC) to file a complaint against them. The woman claimed that Pratik Shah asked for a naked picture when she reached her to work on Instagram.
A source told the publication, “The girl got nervous and reached a senior, which alerted IWCC. A senior IWCC member reached her on WhatsApp and called her out, warned her that it was not an acceptable behavior. She apologized and said that it would not happen once again.
Abhinav Singh also claimed that he was testified by more than 20 women, who called her a hunter. He also shared his complaints, hiding his identity, where he alleged that he receives the ‘Ishqbaaz’ and ‘scary’ messages.
Pratik Shah’s most recent work is Dharma Productions ‘Homebound’, which had a premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. A day after the allegations were revealed, Dharma Productions issued a statement.
According to the report, the statement said, “In Dharma Productions, we have zero tolerance policy against inappropriate behavior and sexual harassment against any person working with us in any capacity, and we consider cases of sexual harassment very seriously. Mr. Pratik Shah was a freelancer on any project homebound.
Pratik Shah has not yet responded to the allegations.
