Actor Siddharth Malhotra’s ‘Param Sundari’ was still expected to have another light cross-cultural romance. Actor Janhvi Kapoor in the romantic-comedy is also an unconventional story on the northern vs South divide. However, the film opened at Rs 7.25 crore on its first day, despite only a stellar cast.

While director Mohit Suri’s ‘Siara’ broke the myth around the romantic films who did not work in Bollywood and became a blockbuster, ‘Param Belange’ fought on his early day. In contrast, ‘Siarra’ earned Rs 21.5 crore on the first day of release with actor Anit Post with actor Ahaan Pandey.

Param Sundari narrated the story of two major characters, which meet Delhi and Kerala respectively. The film also features Siddharth Malhotra and Janhvi, Rajiv Khandelwal and Akash Dahiya in decisive roles. The song Soundtrack, especially ‘Pardesia’, was highly praised even before its release.

‘Param Belange’ received mixed reactions from the audience. One of the major concerns, the film has a Malayali girl casting as a Malayali girl. Earlier, Malayalam radio personality Pavithra Menon and content manufacturer Steffi slammed Janhvi’s casting in the film.

India today, in its review for the film, wrote, ” Param Beautiful ‘had the ability to be a sparkling, one kind of Rome-one that you can see again for years. Instead, it resides to have a beautiful postcard with good music and scenes. Siddharth and Janhvi cannot be seen once.

‘Param Belange’ is directed by Tushar Jalota and is supported by producer Dinesh Vijan’s Madock Films.
