This is a doom life. Practically acting as an additional organ with our phone, always within access, dumcolling has become a default mode for many. When you feed your algorithm, minutes are blurred in hours as soon as you are lost in an endless stream of material.

Viraj Sheth, the co-founder of the influential management company Monk Entertainment, posted on LinkedIn that his company was searching for dumcollers. But not everyone can call themselves one. Sheth insisted that they would require screenshots of applicants on YouTube and Instagram to ensure that they are real dumacrollers.

The post, of course, gave rise to a variety of reactions. While many expressed mistrust, others jokingly said that they would be perfectly fit.
You have probably paid people to pay for a variety of mattresses, taste -taste -tastes to sleep on dog food, or tried a slide of water – but dumcolling? First of all, it may look like one of those bizarre giggs, but there is a grip: you have to be intentionally.

Even for Sheth, an ideal dumacoller only requires more than high screen time. “Not only screen time. Anyone can scroll. Good people notice what other people remember – which creators are suddenly everywhere, the reel formats are being copied, or how a meme is traveling. Originally, they scroll with curiosity and reference. They prefer to inspect and predict the pattern,” they especially describe India.
Dumsoling as a career
For Sheth, giving a professional spin to dumcolling is about some people already converting into a tangible skill set.
“Instead of feeling guilty about your time on the feed, you are really putting it to work,” they say.
Samad Shoaib, CEO and co-founder of personality development and career aid company Oretics, assuming that they have seen that students make screen time a skill.
“The use of social media is not an issue itself – it is how you interact with it. What seems to be ‘dumacrolling’ content cursor, trend spotter, or digital storytelling – can become all assets in the current economy.

But human resource professionals also marked serious concerns about the “career-fusion” of dumacrolling.
“Dummoling as a career option is still very newborn, especially in India. While the idea of hiring ‘dooskrollers’ seems complicated, I believe that we are still in the early stages of developing it in a legitimate profession,” Surya Sekhar Debnath, says a counseling HR.
Debnath has warned that choosing dumcolling as a career cannot be a wise step, especially if it does not eventually lead to a large, more defined role.
Debnath told India today, “Spending six or more hours a day to scroll through a fast book, fragmented material can have long -term effects on mental health, creativity and learning ability. Over time, people may also lose interest in other forms of work, making it difficult to infection in other career tracts.”
Sakshi Mathur, Heath HR HR HeTher Bridge – NNHS India PVT Ltd, echoes similar concerns and emphasizes the need to prioritize the good of the employee.
“Having a feeling of mental and physical peace. We have already seen the toll that the BPO industry had once taken young professionals – stress, burnout, career stagnation, and volatility was fierce. If we are now making roles that demand five to six hours daily, we need to ask ourselves: Mathur says.
After all, it should be a win for both employers and employees, she says.
“Leaders need to ask what kind of community we are trying to form. Does this role promote organizational needs as well as employee development, or is it slant for unilateral profit?”
Debnath also says that dumcrolling trends can develop in special roles such as analysts, digital curators or consumer insight strategists, but only with the right structure. Instead of binding scrolling, one has to focus on arbitrary engagement instead of binding scrolling.
