Television actress Hina Khan, who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer, recently shaved her head. She shared a video on social media and explained why she decided to go bald. The actress explained that it was “painful and stressful” for her to see her hair falling out. She also shared photos of hair falling on pillows and clothes.

“You can only conquer it if you embrace it, accept it and I choose to accept my battle scars because I believe if you embrace yourself, you are one step closer to your healing and I really want to heal and focus on that aspect of my life. I don’t want to go through that process where every time I put my hands in my hair, a bunch of hair falls out. It’s very stressful and frustrating. I don’t want to go through that,” Hina said in the video.

The ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ fame shared how stressed and frustrated she gets whenever she sees her falling hair, she said, “I don’t want to go through that situation. I have to follow the steps of that which is already in my control (I want to take charge of what is within my control).”

In the video, the 36-year-old actress said that she knows she will have to endure physical pain during the treatment, but to keep herself strong, she is also paying attention to her mental health.

Hina further added, “To work on your physical health, you need to work on your mental health. I want to stay positive, happy and try everything possible to avoid mental stress.”

Addressing all cancer patients, especially women, Hina concluded on a motivational note, saying, “I know how tough it is. It’s very, very stressful and painful. Don’t let yourself go through all this. Just cut it off before it starts falling apart. That’s what I’m going to do. Remember, you are still you, and nothing is going to change. In fact, you are more beautiful than ever before. Embrace this new version of yourself, this new truth, this new journey with every breath, cell and in every way possible.”

Before signing off the video, Hina promised that she will carry her bald look with pride and will use a razor to shave her head. Along with the video, the actress, who was also seen as a contestant in Bigg Boss 11, wrote, “Pixie says ADIOS, it’s time to shave it off! This is yet another attempt to normalise the most difficult phase of the beauty journey. Remember ladies… our strength is our patience and calmness. If we put our minds to it, nothing is impossible. Mind over matter (sic).”

Hina’s contemporaries including Juhi Parmar, Aashka Goradia, Rubina Dilaik, Mouni Roy and Riddhi Dogra, among others, sent “love and strength” to Hina and praised her for standing strong during these tough times.
