iQOO recently hosted the third edition of Priv Night in India for YouTubers, influencers, and tech media to showcase the iQOO 15R, which is scheduled to launch on February 24. We were invited to the event and got an early look at the iQOO 15R.
The iQOO 15R is the first ‘R’ model in iQOO’s numbered lineup in India, and it is primarily aimed at young professionals who are looking for a smartphone that is compact but also packs a powerful chipset and a large battery under the hood. More on that in a bit.

The iQOO 15R comes in two colors – one is black, and the other is silver with a checkered design. The black version is called the Dark Knight, while the silver model is called the Triumph Silver.
The Dark Knight model, which appears brownish in certain lighting conditions, gives a stealthy look and is better suited to those who want something for a formal occasion. On the other hand, the Triumph Silver Edition is good for those who want something with a casual look. That checkered design looks nice, but it’s only visible properly when light is reflected at the right angle.

The camera island design of the iQOO 15R is similar to that of the iQOO 15, and features two cameras, with the primary camera using a 50MP Sony LYT-700 sensor and having OIS. On the front is a punch-hole display, the diagonal of which has not yet been revealed by iQOO.

Under the hood is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC and a 7,600 mAh battery with 100W charging. The smartphone also supports bypass charging.

We liked the overall design of the iQOO 15R. It’s compact and more comfortable to use with one hand than the larger iQOO 15. The build is good too, and the Triumph Silver colourway is our favourite.
iQOO has not yet provided detailed information about the specs sheet of the iQOO 15R. However, the brand had previously confirmed that the smartphone will come with a Q2 supercomputing chip, 6.5K IceCore VC cooling system, and support for 144 FPS gaming in BGMI via frame interpolation technology.

The iQOO 15R will run OriginOS 6 and will receive OS updates for four years and security updates for six years. The price of its base model will be less than Rs 50,000.
