Hera Ferry Franchise, who first hit the screen in 2000, has made her place as a sect favorite in Indian cinema, thanks to her memorable characters, funny dialogues and evergreen humor. Along with Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal led the first two films, the expectation is growing for the next installment. Priyadarshan has now confirmed that the scripting for Hera Pheri 3 will begin in 2026. He also said that it is going to be ‘challenging’.
In an interview with ETV Bharat recently, Priyadarshan shared, “I am planning to start work, I start writing Hera Ferri 3 for some time next year. It is very challenging to create a third part because it is very challenging because there will be a lot of expectations.”
He emphasized that it is relatively easy to cry or feel the audience, relatively easy, it is more difficult to produce pure, reliable humor without resorting to double antender. In addition, he said that humor develops over time, and social taste changes, which makes it important to adapt accordingly. Since dear characters have become old, the story should ensure that their journey is reliable.
Priyadarshan also said that some situations in the film will be exaggerated, but should still feel ‘this may happen’. However, he will achieve clarity only after writing once. “Once I put the pen on paper, I will know. I would really have to fight the challenge and make a good script,” he said.
Speaking about his strong relationship with Akshay Kumar, Priyadarshan shared that some cooperation naturally come in place. He said that apart from Mohanlal, with whom he has worked with more than 40 films, Akshay is the actor he has worked together.
The filmmaker highlighted the Deep Trust Akshay places in them, revealing that the actor rarely questioned the story when he shares the main view. Akshay simply comes on the set, performs, and the leaves, completely rely on his vision. However, Priyadarshan admitted that this trust also connects his responsibility, as he feels pressure to give.
Hera Ferri 3 was announced in a unique and unexpected manner. On Priyadarshan’s birthday, Akshay Kumar shared a hearty message for the filmmaker. In response, Priyadarshan surprised everyone by giving a proposal that no fan could resist.
Expressing his gratitude, the director replied, “Thank you very much Akshay for your wishes. In return I would like to give you a gift, I am ready to do Hera Ferry 3, are you ready @akshaykumar, @sunielvshetty and @sirpareshrawal?”
Akshay’s response was full of enthusiasm because he immediately accepted the proposal, “Sir !!! Your birthday and I got the best gift of my life. Let’s Kartare Han again a little hera Fari 🙂
