Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy recently revealed that British star Henry Cavill fell ill after shooting his cameo in Marvel’s latest film Deadpool and Wolverine.
Speaking to the New York Times, the filmmaker explained, “Poor Henry Cavill not only had a strong muscular body, but he kept lit cigars in his mouth the entire day of shooting. I remember hearing the next day that Henry had an upset stomach because he had been inhaling cigar smoke for eight hours straight, but he didn’t flinch once.”

Elaborating on that surprise cameo, the director said, “In Henry’s case, it was only after everything was settled with DC that the news came out that Henry was being replaced as Superman. Given that Deadpool is in constant dialogue with the culture, it felt like a great opportunity to first of all cast Henry Cavill in a role that he would rock, but also to poke fun at that other comic-book-founded movie studio and play with some self-awareness in there.”
Cavill played Logan, also known as Cavillrin, in Deadpool and Wolverine.
Henry Cavill became a household name after playing Superman in the DC films. He was later dropped.
