With the results of the Lok Sabha elections that were declared on Tuesday, the BJP-led NDA is going to form the government at the Centre for the third consecutive time. The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also happy with this decision because it has performed strongly in alliance with the Congress.

The BJP-led NDA is projected to win 291 seats, India Block 234 seats and other parties 18 seats. The contest in the Lok Sabha elections was much tougher than the exit poll predictions, which said that the NDA would win by a huge margin.

In his speech after most of the results were declared in the evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the BJP-led NDA will form the government for the third consecutive time and this is a victory of the resolve for a developed India, Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas and the strong faith of the people in the Constitution of India.

Prime Minister Modi said at the party’s central office that this is the first time since 1962 that a government which has completed two terms has got a third consecutive term. He said that a new history has been created after six decades.
