According to 9to5 Google, Google is taking call screens a step further with the new “AI Replies” feature. The latest beta version of Google’s Phone app shows signs that Google is developing AI-powered responses that can connect with callers even more intelligently. Here’s how it might work: If someone calls and your phone screens it, AI Reply will craft a response based on what the caller said. So, instead of choosing from a set list, you’ll get an AI-generated answer that feels like a more natural, human response to the caller’s message.
These responses will come from Google’s advanced language models, including the Gemini Nano model, which helps generate natural-sounding text.
