Haq Box Office Day 2: Yami-Imran’s films continue to shine, earn Rs 5 crore
Inspired by a landmark Supreme Court verdict on Muslim women’s rights, Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam’s courtroom drama ‘Haq’ has collected Rs 5.10 crore in two days. The film’s strong performances and socially relevant narrative have received critical acclaim and audience support.

The sting of justice seems to be ringing at the box office. Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam’s courtroom drama ‘Haq’ has taken a stellar start by earning Rs 5.10 crore in just two days since its release on November 7. Inspired by the Supreme Court’s landmark judgment granting maintenance rights to divorced Muslim women, the film is receiving a healthy mix of critical appreciation and audience support.
‘Haq’ collected Rs 2.03 crore on the first day. There was a slight increase on the second day, with Saturday’s figures touching Rs 3.35 crore (early estimate by Sanilc). Buoyed by almost 29 per cent occupancy of the night show, the total collection now stands at Rs 5.10 crore – an encouraging sign for its opening weekend.
Yami Gautam plays the role of Shazia, a woman fighting for justice after triple talaq, while Emraan Hashmi plays her lawyer Abbas Khan. With powerful performances and an inspiring script, the film takes inspiration from Shah Bano Begum’s real-life legal battle – a turning point in the conversation about Muslim women’s rights in India.
Directed by Suparn S Varma and produced by Junglee Pictures, ‘Haq’ has been appreciated for bringing a complex legal issue to the big screen in an accessible and emotional manner. Word-of-mouth buzz and positive reviews are helping the film head into Sunday.
Interestingly, the film’s release comes after a real-life courtroom drama – the Madhya Pradesh High Court recently rejected a petition seeking a stay on its release. The additional legal spotlight further increased curiosity about the film’s subject.
Meanwhile, Yami Gautam gave fans a slice of her off-screen charm by sharing her “first time Mumbai-darshan by train” with co-star Emraan Hashmi, and cheekily captioned it, “My first Mumbai-darshan by train with the one and only #HAQse.”
With growing word-of-mouth and a socially charged story resonating beyond theatres, ‘Haq’ is set to continue its winning streak over the weekend.
