Aamir Khan’s latest production venture, Happy Patel Khatranak Jasoos, started its journey on a slow note at the box office. This dark comedy jointly directed by Vir Das and Kavi Shastri is priced at just Rs. Started from. As per estimates, 1.25 crores at Indian box office.
Happy Patel’s fortunes depend on how he performs from here. The initial dialogue seems to be quite average, which will affect its box office. Had the film received a great response among the audience, the A-rated dark comedy would have had some hopes at the box office. The film should aim for a good growth over the weekend, and then hold strong on the weekdays to earn a respectable total by the end of its theatrical run.
Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, Happy Patel released in theaters with good buzz on the internet. Although Aamir Khan’s creative approach helped in marketing the film, the actual promotional material of the film did not create a spark among the audience. Apart from this, the film is clashing with two other comedy films- Rahu Ketu and One Too Cha Cha Cha.
All three titles have a week of free time to record any kind of performance, as Sunny Deol’s Border 2 is set to occupy most of the screens from next weekend, which will ultimately push them towards their theatrical end.
