Meghan Markle may be royalty now, but before that, she had a career in the Hollywood industry. Markle is mostly known for starring in The Suits, but despite it being one of the highest-rated shows, she never really became a household name. Aside from getting a full-length movie, she has made cameos in The League, the Beverly Hills 90210 reboot, and several other films.
Although the Duchess of Sussex is turning 43, here are ten of her best onscreen appearances. In addition to her special appearance in Deal or No Deal, she has also been featured in two Hallmark Channel movies.
Tostitos (2009)
Well, her journey started with the Tostitos ad. This is one of Meghan’s best appearances so far, in which she can be seen checking the ingredients of the chips and a man named Gary walks around wearing shorts. Although she did not have a voice in the ad, the Duchess of Sussex gave quite a stellar performance.
Deal or No Deal (2005)
Deal or No Deal is a reality TV game show in which Megan Markle was one of the briefcase models. Her cheerleader-like enthusiasm on the $5 winning case will always be iconic. Apart from her, Chrissy Teigen was also one of the models. The show was hosted by Howie Mandel.
When the Sparks Fly (2014)
Meghan’s second best Hallmark Channel movie is When Sparks Fly. She plays Amy Peterson, a journalist living in Chicago. However, things change quickly when she is sent back to her small hometown to write a “Fourth of July story and discover the life and love she left behind.” Upon moving back, she finds out that the love of her life is engaged to her best friend. How she deals with the new changes is told throughout the story.
Remember Me (2010)
Produced by Meghan’s ex-husband Trevor Engelson, Meghan Markle was seen playing a cameo role as a bartender in Remember Me. In the scene, she interacts with Tyler (Robert Pattinson) and his friend Tate (Aidan Hall). She had a brief appearance in it.
Beverly Hills 90210: The Reboot (2019)
Revolving around the OG 1990s Beverly Hills 90210 storyline, the reboot featured Meghan Markle in a steamy cameo. She can be seen wearing a noodle-strap dress and having fun in an SUV. Although she had a brief appearance, her sensuous presence will definitely go a long way in her acting career.
Dysfunctional Friends (2012)
This year’s independent film, Dysfunctional Friends, featured Meghan in a boho-chic look. She played a photographer and can be seen taking pictures of a man who is very obsessed with his manhood. Although the star of the film is Stacey Dash as Lisa, Meghan’s contribution was also appreciated. If you want to watch it, it’s streaming on Amazon.
The League (2009)
Markle had a small 56-second role in the 2009 film The League, playing a woman Mark Duplass picks up from a bar as he goes through a separation. Although her unnamed character doesn’t have much to contribute, she said she doesn’t like the word ‘divorced’ and that ‘it makes us a little old’. Her appearance may go unnoticed, but it certainly holds a significant place in her career.
The Dater’s Handbook (2016)
This 2016 Hallmark Channel romantic comedy film starred Meghan Markle in the lead role alongside Kristoffer Polaha and Jonathan Scarfe. The story revolves around a single woman trying to change the way she chooses relationships by checking off a checklist. However, in the end, she realizes that “the man she wants is someone who loves her for who she is.” This is one of her best performances in any Hallmark Channel movie.
Anti-Social (2015)
Moving away from her usual romantic comedy roles, the Duchess of Sussex was spotted in a crime film. Markle plays a woman who is dating a street artist, who wears a lot of hoodies and is a bit edgy. This definitely makes it to her top 10 performances list.
Random Encounters (2013)
Meghan Markle played a bubbly best friend in the 2013 romantic comedy film Random Encounters. She may have gotten a side character, but it has left a mark on her career.
