Juhi Chawla is celebrating her 57th birthdayth Today i.e. 13th November 2024 is the birthday. On this special occasion, let us recall an interesting incident when the actress had admitted that she was ‘happy’ about Aamir Khan’s casting as the anti-hero in her iconic film ‘Darr’, which was finally done. Shahrukh Khan.
During an earlier interaction, Juhi Chawla revealed that legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra had initially approached Aamir Khan for the anti-hero role. The birthday girl was quite excited by the development, as she had previously shared screen space with Mr Perfectionist.
“When I heard that Yash ji was going to cast Aamir Khan for Shahrukh’s role, I was very happy, because you know I have worked with Aamir in my early films and I am very comfortable with him. . Then I heard Aamir was not doing it, then I thought it went to Ajay Devgan and some other young heroes, but they didn’t do it, then finally it was Shahrukh. But I can’t tell you how special it was!” he was quoted as saying in Hindustan Times.
She further added that she was a “big-eyed young girl” at the time who was just experiencing life and going through the whole experience. According to the actress, she didn’t know where she was going, but she mentioned feeling overwhelmed by the great heights and the experience.
The former Miss India admitted that she found some happiness with Shah Rukh Khan because by then she had done Rajun Ban Gaya Gentleman with him, so a comfort level had developed. “It was a huge adventure,” Juhi said.
Years later, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that Juhi and Shahrukh are going strong in terms of their professional collaboration and personal bond of friendship. Both are co-owners of an IPL cricket team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Apart from this, the pair has also shared screen space in notable romantic comedies of the 90s like Yes Boss, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Duplicate and others. Meanwhile, Juhi and Aamir have shared screen space in films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Ishq and Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke.
Juhi Chawla was last seen in Amazon Prime Video’s web series Hush Hush, released in 2022.
