‘Happy birthday Donald. You’re a badass’: Joe Biden campaign as Trump turns 78
The Biden campaign marked Donald Trump’s 78th birthday with a scathing message, highlighting deep political divisions and focusing on age and mental acuity as key election issues.

Donald Trump celebrates his 78th birthday on Friday, a milestone that will remind voters that the two major-party candidates running for the U.S. presidency this year (Trump and President Joe Biden) are the oldest candidates ever to run for the office.
(Joe Biden is 81, while Trump is 78, just three-and-a-half years younger.)
Meanwhile, Joe Biden’s presidential campaign said in a birthday message to Trump that the former US president was a “cheater, a failure and a fraud”.
“Happy birthday, Donald. You are a crook, a failure, a fraud, and a threat to our democracy, economy, rights, and future,” the Biden campaign said.
As the cruelest gift of all, the Biden campaign said, “On behalf of America, our early gift for your 79th birthday: making sure you never become president again.”
Furthermore, the Biden administration also shared a joke list of 78 “accomplishments” of Trump, saying that the former US president was the first person to be convicted and impeached on various charges.
The list included some of Trump’s difficulties as a business owner, his handling of the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, his demand for the death penalty for the Central Park Five, a video he posted on social media that referenced a “unified reach,” his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, his efforts to overturn the Affordable Care Act, and his statements taking credit for ending Roe v. Wade.

In a separate X post, alongside a short video comparing Trump’s policies with his own actions and policies, Joe Biden wrote, “Happy 78th Birthday, Donald. From one old man to another old man: Age is just a number. This election, however, is a choice.”
Here is the video that Joe Biden posted on X.
Age and mental acuity have been at the heart of the competition between Republican Trump and his Democratic rival, President Joe Biden, which often receives more attention than policy issues ahead of the Nov. 5 election.
Trump addresses the crowd in Florida
Donald Trump addressed a crowd in Florida on his birthday, and repeatedly described Joe Biden as too weak for a second term.
“Our country is being destroyed by incompetent people,” Trump said.
“All presidents should have a competency test,” the former US president said.
Despite mocking Biden, even declaring that the president often “doesn’t know where he is,” Trump also offered a contradictory message to his supporters. He supported early voting, casting ballots by mail and voting in person on Election Day, but later said: “I actually tell our people, we don’t need your vote. We have plenty of votes.”
