Hanuman director Prashant Verma says he left filmmaking for his first love
Director Prashant Verma, who scored a big hit with Hanuman earlier this year, recently expressed his strong preference for writing stories rather than directing films.
Prashant Verma, known for his inventive filmmaking style, recently made headlines with his candid comments about his deep passion for storytelling. At the pre-release event of Devaki Nandan Vasudev, he revealed his long-standing desire to focus only on writing stories, even expressing that he wanted to pursue his first love – writing. Will consider moving away from direction.
In his speech, Varma shared, “Before entering the industry, I wrote 33 stories. These are completely different from the films I have made till now. If I get a chance, I will leave direction and devote myself to writing.” Adding a touch of humor, he jokingly offered one of his stories to fellow director Boyapati Srinu, who is famous for action blockbusters like Akhand and Legend. Is a film producer.
Boyapati Srinu, who was also the chief guest at the event, is currently busy with the much-awaited Akhand 2 starring Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Prashant Verma’s career took off with his directorial debut ‘Away’, which was critically acclaimed for its unique narrative. He then gained widespread recognition with the first Telugu superhero film Hanuman. Hanuman not only garnered international praise but also laid the foundation of the Prashant Verma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), which is set to expand with the upcoming sequel Jai Hanuman.
The buzz around Jai Hanuman has increased, especially about its star-studded cast. Kannada actor Rishabh Shetty plays the role of Anjaneya, while Rana Daggubati is also set to play a pivotal role. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film promises to raise the bar of Telugu cinema.
Meanwhile, Prashant Varma’s another exciting project, Devaki Nandana Vasudeva, is all set to be an action-packed entertainer. Directed by Arjun Jandyala, the film has music by Bheems Cecirollo and an entertaining story by Varma.
