Academy Award winners Halle Berry and Glenn Close have joined reality TV star Kim Kardashian in new legal drama series ‘All’s Fair’. Produced by Ryan Murphy, the show follows a successful divorce lawyer and a female law firm owner in Los Angeles.
Kim Kardashian, who previously worked with Murphy on ‘American Horror Story’, will play the lead character and will also serve as an executive producer alongside her mother Kris Jenner and Berry. Apart from Berry, veteran actor Glenn Close will also join the cast. Their respective roles have not been revealed yet.
Berry, who is usually known for playing strong and complex characters, and is best known for her Oscar-winning performance in ‘Monster’s Ball’. Eight-time Oscar nominee Close is known for bringing depth to her roles. She will be returning to the legal drama genre after starring in FX’s ‘Damages’ from 2007-2012. The addition of these two award-winning actors has further increased the excitement for the show.
Interestingly, Ryan Murphy appeared in an episode of ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ where he spoke to the model-turned-actor Kardashian about the show. He can be heard saying, “Kim is the world’s best, the world’s most expensive divorce lawyer. It has everything that ‘Sex and the City’ has, i.e. girlfriends. It has a bond of women trying to go through the experience together (sic).”
Kim seemed excited about her appearance on the show, which will stream on Hulu, the same app on which her reality show is available to watch online. She described Murphy’s show as challenging and “very different” from all the shows she has done so far.
Murphy further described ‘All’s Fair’ as a “high-end, glossy and sexy adult procedural”. It is set to go on floors in late 2024 and is expected to premiere in early 2025. The screenplay is written by Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Bacon and Murphy himself.
