Gurumeet Choudhary joins Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen season 2 as Guru. His character enthralled the audience, and it also marks a significant change from his debut in the entertainment industry – playing Lord Ram in Ramayana. In a session of Sahitya Aaj Tak 2024, the actor revealed how he resisted being typecast and had to wait for over a year and a half to break away from the image of Lord Ram.

Speaking during the session, Gurmeet Choudhary shared, “People typecast you in the industry. When I did Ramayan, I was 24-25 years old. It was for Debinna (his co-star in the show and his wife) The first show was. And it became popular and people started behaving like they do in front of an idol. But, after a while, you feel like exploring other characters too. “

He further said, “I learned a lot because I was in the character of Lord Ram for one and a half years. But the biggest challenge was that I would not do such a character anymore, because I wanted to know more. And for another one year For half a year, I was approached only with such roles. Only after this wait was I able to take the leap and get into films.”
