Last year, Rockstar Games surprised fans by releasing the first trailer of GTA VI a day ahead of schedule. It was initially set for December 5, 2023, but a massive leak led to the trailer being released on December 4. The nearly 91-second long trailer confirmed the return of the much-loved Vice City and introduced the main protagonists, Lucia and Jason, in a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde scenario. Ever since the first trailer was released, fans have been talking about the second trailer and what to expect from it. Over the past few months, several speculations have surfaced on the internet regarding the launch of the second trailer. And now, the latest rumours indicate that the trailer might release before August this year.

GTA VI second trailer expectations

According to users SynthPotato and GTAVI_Countdown, the second trailer for GTA VI could arrive before August this year. This prediction is based on Rockstar’s historical release patterns and comments from Take-Two Interactive’s CFO, Lanny Goldstein. Meanwhile, the third trailer is expected to arrive in December 2024, followed by a gameplay trailer in February 2025 ahead of the game’s release.

Talking about the game’s release timeline, Rockstar Games had previously announced that GTA 6 will launch in autumn 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. While initial reports suggested a delayed PC release, recent leaks indicate that the game may launch on PC alongside the console versions. There is excitement about this news, especially among PC gamers who were disappointed by the initial delay rumours. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick hinted that Rockstar may make further announcements regarding the PC release.

The game promises several technical advancements, including features like HDR, DLSS, ray tracing, global illumination, FSR, SSR, denoiser, and shadow rasterisation. These enhancements are aimed at providing a great visual experience, although there are concerns about potential optimisation challenges, particularly with ray tracing.

What to expect from GTA VI

GTA VI is expected to have a lot of pop culture influences, including influences from shows like Narcos, Shottas and Bad Boys for Life. The setting, Vice City, is a nostalgic nod to fans of GTA Vice City, released in 2002. The first trailer showed familiar locations like sunsets, beaches and yachts, bringing back memories of playing as Tommy Vercetti.

The game’s map is said to be the largest in Rockstar’s history, even bigger than the massive world of Red Dead Redemption 2. There is speculation that the map will include parts of Florida and Georgia, although these details have not been confirmed by Rockstar.

GTA VI also marks a significant milestone with the introduction of the first female protagonist in the series, Lucia. She, along with male protagonist Jason, promises to deliver a dynamic story reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde. Other characters such as Stephanie, a prison counselor, and a mysterious clown-like figure are expected to add depth to the narrative.

The game is also expected to include several mini-games, possibly the most in the series. This includes a new fishing mini-game, as well as other activities that will enhance the overall gameplay experience.

The GTA community is full of speculation and leaks. Social media platforms, especially X (formerly Twitter), are full of discussions and predictions. Users such as @GTAVI_Countdown and mvbr have been key in sharing leaks and information about the game, keeping the excitement going. The game is rumoured to be priced higher than previous titles, reflecting the advanced features and detailed world.

The hype for GTA VI is showing no signs of slowing down as we approach an autumn 2025 release. With Rockstar Games slowly revealing more details, fans around the world are on the edge of their seats, ready to dive into the next chapter of the Grand Theft Auto saga.
