GTA VI rumours: PC release, second trailer launch date and everything we know
Rockstar Games’ GTA VI will be released next year. A PC version is also in the works and rumours of its release have surfaced online. Here’s everything you need to know.

If you are interested in gaming or keep up with gaming news, then you must have heard about GTA VI, which is one of the most eagerly awaited games. Rockstar Games released the first trailer of the game in December last year, which revealed a 2025 release. Recently, the game’s launch timeline was narrowed down even further, confirming a “Fall 2025” launch. Since fall usually starts around September, we are looking at more than a year of anticipation ahead.
The rumour mill is already quite hot, with speculations and leaks surfacing everywhere. So, let’s take a look at everything we know so far and what we can expect from this blockbuster release. Whether it’s new features, settings or gameplay mechanics, there’s a lot to be excited about as the launch date draws closer.
The PC version may release earlier than expected
Ever since the news broke that GTA VI will first come on PlayStation and Xbox, PC players have been a bit disappointed. Earlier it was being reported that the game’s launch on PC would be delayed. However, the latest leaks indicate that this may not be the case and the game may come to PC at the same time as consoles. A reliable source named @GTAVI_Countdown on X has said that the PC release of the game may happen along with the console version release.
To recall, GTA VI was announced in December 2023, with a planned release in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, Rockstar has remained silent about the PC release date.
At the TD Cowan conference, Strauss Zelnick was asked if the lack of a PC release at launch was final or if an announcement could be made at a later date. Zelnick had responded, “I don’t think either will be set in stone, but Rockstar has an approach to the platform that we’ve seen before, and they’ll make some further announcements in due course.”
This makes it seem like there’s still a ray of hope left for PC gamers who are eagerly waiting for more news on GTA 6’s arrival on their platform. So, while nothing has been confirmed, it’s likely we’ll hear something in the future.
Fresh leak about the console version
The latest information about the console version has been leaked online by user mvbr. The user says that gamers can expect features like HDR, DLSS, Ray Tracing, Global Illumination, FSR, SSR, Denoiser, and Shadow Rasterization.
In another tweet, mvbr said that even though the game is likely to offer ray tracing, it may face some optimization challenges.
Influenced by pop culture?
Apart from that, the game is expected to be heavily influenced by pop culture. Shows like Narcos, Shotas, Bad Boys for Life, The Place Beyond the Pines, etc. have reportedly influenced the world of GTA VI.
Rumored Price
Although the exact price of the game has not been revealed yet, there is speculation that GTA VI could be more expensive than the previous title, possibly starting at USD 59.99 (Rs. 4,993). With the release date approaching, fans around the world are eagerly waiting for the next installment of the beloved GTA series.
Second trailer of GTA VI
Reports of a second trailer for GTA VI surfaced back in March. It was previously being said that Trailer 2 could arrive this May and since that deadline has passed, details about the trailer launch date are scarce.
Rumours of a GTA VI Trailer 2 surfaced in March this year when a Reddit user informed the community that Rockstar Games had added GTA 6 Trailer 1 to its videos section. The user also pointed out that there were arrows on the website, indicating that more videos would be added to this folder.
Big map and mini games
The GTA VI map is rumored to be the largest map in Rockstar Games’ history, even bigger than the map in Red Dead Redemption 2. A Reddit user compiled a list of possible locations in the game, suggesting it will cover parts of Florida and Georgia. But again, Rockstar Games has not confirmed these details. Other Reddit users have claimed that GTA VI will have the most mini-games in the series, including a new fishing mini-game.
Characters and setting
It was clear from the game’s first trailer that GTA VI will feature a female protagonist named Lucia, which is the first time the franchise has included a central female character. It will also feature a male character, rumored to be named Jason. The inclusion of characters such as Stephanie, a prison counselor, and a mysterious, clown-like figure also promise to enhance the players’ experience.
Talking about the setting, the game will take us back to Vice City, with the location in the trailer looking very similar to the 2002 release. We saw sunsets, beaches, and yachts, bringing back memories of playing as Tommy Vercetti in GTA Vice City.
