Govinda claims Karan Johar’s film Govinda Naam Mera is based on his alleged infidelity
Actor Govinda has criticized the 2022 film Govinda Naam Mera for reportedly reflecting his personal life and past marital struggles. Expressing deep displeasure over the similarity of the storyline to his own experiences, the veteran actor warned filmmakers against using personal lives for commercial entertainment.

Govinda said in an interview ANIconfessed that he did not appreciate his personal life being forced into a film. He said, “Someone made a film in my name. govinda my name. I think it was Karan Johar. In the story, there is a fight between husband and wife because of their girlfriend. They start doubting each other. So, they try to force someone’s personal life into a film.”
He further added, “I promise that if we ever cross paths, I will give him the Rajinikanth treatment in public. Please do not misbehave. I request you with folded hands, jokes everywhere and all the time do not go well.”
In My name is Govinda, Backed by Dharma Productions, actor Vicky Kaushal plays the role of Govind Waghmare, popularly known as Govinda, a background dancer struggling to make his mark as a professional choreographer. His personal life is in disarray; He is desperate to leave his wife Gauri (Bhumi Pednekar) and build a future with his girlfriend and co-worker Suku (Kiara Advani). Govinda and Susunita married in 1987 and kept their relationship a secret for two years until the birth of their daughter Tina in 1989. Over the years, whispers about affairs and tension have repeatedly surfaced, but Susunita has consistently denied any plans for divorce.
