Despite the slow start, ‘Mahavatar Narasimha’ has crossed the 200 million mark globally and has an estimate of Rs 100 crore in India.
In a conversation with India today, Kumar recently talked about the success of the film at the box office.
He said, “When such a film works for Rs 100 crore in its first week, it is heavy. Honestly, it is very difficult to predict how big something will be. But people have talked, their hearts have spoken, and once trust is restored, there is no restriction.”
“We are the most diverse lands of faith in the world, and perhaps cultural resonance and spiritual relations have touched people deeply. Do I think it will grow up? I knew something special will happen because the subject is powerful, but it was difficult to imagine it on this scale. Now it has started to see, and I am eager to see where it goes,” they said.
‘Mahavatar Narasimha’ is produced under the banner of claim productions and is presented by Homebell Films.
After the welcome welcome to ‘Mahavatar Narasimha’, Homebell Films and Claim Productions have announced an ambitious series of sequel. They will explore the ten divine incarnations of Lord Vishnu, which will begin in 2027 with ‘Mahavatar Parshuram’ and end in 2037 with ‘Mahavatar Kalki Part 2’.
The film was released on July 25, 2025 in 3D and five Indian languages.
