Glen Powell effectively shut down comparisons made to Ryan Gosling by an unnamed Hollywood producer on X, who expressed that the Twisters star is the biggest rising movie star in Tinseltown. While praising Powell, the producer threw an indirect shade at the Barbie star, stating that Powell appeals to both male and female audiences, while Gosling’s appeal is mostly limited to the female crowd.
“Gosling is a legend. I’m just Glenn,” Powell commented on the social media platform in response, referencing the former Barbie actor’s iconic slogan “I’m just Ken.” The response gained immediate attention on social media, and it now has over 100,000 likes and counting.

The unnamed Hollywood producer’s praise for Powell comes after fans were excited just days ago by the actor’s transformation for his new project – with some even mistaking him for Tom Cruise.
Hulu released an unrecognizable official image of Powell in a straggly blonde wig and a large prosthetic nose after several celebrity news outlets shared glimpses of him. The Hollywood hunk understated his attractiveness as he wore a short-sleeved blue athletic T-shirt, armband and yellow shorts in the photo. The caption read, “Think fast, run faster. Glen Powell stars in Hulu’s new comedy series #ChadPowers.”
The comedy’s official review states, “When bad behavior ruins hotshot Russ Holliday’s career, he disguises himself and joins a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.” Powell is also co-producing the project with Michael Waldron.
The half-hour show is directed by Tony Yacenda and also stars Perry Mattfeld, Frankie A. Rodriguez, Quentin Player, Steve Zahn and Wynn Everett.
Powell, who also has Edgar Wright’s The Running Man in the pipeline, has emerged as a star in Hollywood at a time when the industry is struggling to launch new A-listers. George Clooney told GQ magazine that changes at the major studios have reduced Hollywood’s power to create mega movie stars.
