The dubbed pixel VIP, this feature will allow users to select key contacts and will still provide priority access to connect them when not on disturb mode on the phone.
The Pixel VIPS widget spotted by many reddit users (through Android Police) initially came out in the Google Dogfood (internal test) app leaked a few weeks ago. The initial leak suggested that this feature may start with Pixel 10 later this year. However, Google is providing first, in which many pixel users are now spotted widget Live on their devices through a cool play store update.
So, what does this VIP widget actually do?
For the beginning – according to the Redit users, who have gained access to the feature – the VIP widget on the pixel phone allows users to pin eight contacts as VIPs. These contacts will then appear prominently on the home screen through a widget. Additionally, in these contacts, the contact app will have a special “VIP” label next to their name. From the widget, users can see their final call or message with VIP, whether it is through Google Message or WhatsApp. If the location is capable of sharing, their real -time space appears on a mini map within the widget.
But there is much more. The Pixel VIPS widget also cannot disturb the mode, ensuring that the calls or messages from these people always inform the user, even when the rest of the contacts are muted. This is ideal for those who want to stay connected with family, close friends, or work -related emergency contacts without the distraction of general information.
Additionally, this feature will also provide additional options, such as allowing users to share their location, see the weather and local time at their saved address, write notes about them, and to allow activity suggestions based on your shared priorities or habits.
In particular, Pixel VIPS is not a standalone app, so users will not find it in the app drawer. Instead, it can be added via widget picker or directly through the contact app.
For availability, it appears that Google Pixel VIPS is making part of the June 2025 feature drop for pixel phone. This feature is expected to roll out more pixel users soon.
